HOOVER, AL — An event that has become a staple and a growing attraction in the Birmingham area is returning to Hoover this weekend. The Moss Rock Festival will take place at The Preserve Saturday and Sunday, featuring artists from all over the state.

Visitors to MRF enjoy and purchase works of art depicting or inspired by nature or made from natural or recycled materials, along with functional design, products, and tech by makers, designers, engineers and upcyclers, in addition to fine art and fine crafts representing other content and influences.

Tickets are $10.

  • Artist Row – artists inspired by nature
  • +Design – artisans, makers, and special exhibitions
  • SmartLIVING Market – eco ideas and marketplace featuring products for the home, body, health & more
  • Nature Exhibitors – enjoyment and appreciation of the great outdoors through activities, travel, adventure, parks, sustainability, and preservation
  • Crescent Stage – live music from local talent
  • Planet Projects – engaging constructions, sculptures, and installations by area schools
  • Sweetery Exhibitors – an array of artful confections and baked goods to sample and purchase from area chefs, caterers, and specialty bakers.
  • Beer Garden – sample around 65 craft brews from Alabama Breweries & beyond.
  • WonderKid Studios – workshops using the observation of nature as a launching point for interactive projects and repurposed play that will entertain, educate, surprise, and challenge the imaginations and creative talents of kids of all ages
  • Hiking – take a guided hike and explore the adjacent 350 acre Moss Rock Preserve adjacent to the festival site at The Preserve.
  • Biking – we invite visitors to bike into the festival, explore The Preserve neighborhood, and valet your bike while you enjoy the festivities.
  • Outdoor Activities – Hikes, Climbing Wall, Rope Bridge, and Fly Fishing instruction
  • Cafe by the Woods – local food trucks and other festival favorites serving up good food and treats.
  • Greenways/Pathways Expo – This space will highlight and connect visitors with parks, groups and organizations that get you outdoors to explore and enjoy miles of trails and sights in Greater Birmingham and the region.
  • Aspiring Gardeners Spot – Presentations, tips and advice from experts.

Visitors must park and ride to the festival from the Hoover Metropolitan Stadium. Visitors will be dropped at The Preserve’s retail center, only steps from festival entrance. Only home owners and their guests will be allowed to park within the neighborhood during the festival weekend.
