National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day Is Saturday April 27
The Hoover Police Department will take residents' unused or expired prescription drugs for safe disposal.

HOOVER, AL - The Hoover Police Department will participate again in the DEA National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day this Saturday, April 27. Residents are asked to drop off any unused or expired prescription drugs in their homes from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Hoover City Hall.
The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked. Residents will be able to quickly and conveniently drive around City Hall and drop off their items, which include pills, patches and over-the-counter medications. The Hoover PD cannot accept liquids or needles.
"Many residents may not be aware that medicines that languish in home cabinets are highly susceptible to diversion, misuse, and abuse," the Hoover PD said in a release. "Studies show that a majority of abused prescription drugs are obtained from family and friends, including from the home medicine cabinet."
