North Alabama Man Arrested After Hoover Home Break-in
An armed North Alabama man was arrested for allegedly breaking into a Hoover home Tuesday.

HOOVER, AL - A North Alabama man has been arrested after police say he broke into a Hoover home Tuesday while armed. Hoover police arrived at the 700 block of Flag Circle on a report of a possible burglary in progress after a woman reported seeing a man trying to break into her neighbor's house. The man fled the residence after the police arrived, but was captured a short time later.
The suspect, Bobby Earl Townsend, 34, of Russellville was carrying a backpack that contained a handgun and other supplies typically used in a home break-in. He was arrested and charged with possession of burglar's tools and possession of a firearm as a felon. He will be transferred to the Jefferson County Jail later Wednesday.
