Pedestrian Dies In Highway 280 Crash
A 34-year-old man died after being struck by a vehicle on Highway 280 in Hoover.
HOOVER, AL — A man died after being struck by a vehicle August 15 on Highway 280. The victim has been identified as 34-year-old Jeffery Allen Hayes of Wilsonville.
A report by the Hoover Police Department said Hoover police and fire responded to the 4900 block of Highway 280 West at 8:44 p.m. August 15 on a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.
Officers and paramedics arrived and found an adult male lying on the side of the roadway. He was transported to U.A.B. Hospital where he was pronounced deceased at 9:26 p.m. The driver of the vehicle, a 2011 white Honda Accord, remained on-scene and cooperated with Hoover Police Traffic Investigators.

Investigators found no impairment of the driver of the vehicle and no criminal charges are expected.
