Cahaba Heights Woman Killed Trying To Cross Highway 280
The Cahaba Heights resident, Jackie Prestley, was trying to cross 280 South at Cahaba Park Circle when she was struck by a vehicle.

SHELBY COUNTY, AL - A woman was struck while trying to cross Highway 280 South Monday night, and was pronounced dead on the scene. The incident occurred at the intersection of US 280 South and Cahaba Park Circle.

The woman was identified at Jaqueline "Jackie" Prestley of Cahaba Heights. The Birmingham Police Department and Shelby County Sheriff's Office worked the scene, which closed down the southbound side of the highway for several hours Monday night.
Police say the driver of the vehicle, who was not injured, is cooperating in the investigation.
