Playoffs Round 2: Keep Up On The Patch Scoreboard
This week features rematches between Hoover and Mountain Brook and Hewitt-Trussville and Thompson.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - The football season is over for all but a select few of Alabama's high schools, as the second round of the AHSAA playoffs begins Thursday night. Several Birmingham metro teams stayed alive in the playoff hunt after the first round, including all of the area schools that made the 7A playoffs.
In 7A, a pair of rematches takes place, as Mountain Brook tries to avenge a 31-7 loss to Hoover earlier in the season. As well, Hewitt-Trussville is looking for redemption against Thompson after the Huskies fell to the Warriors toward the end of the regular season on a nationally televised game.
Mountain brook defeated Austin in the first round 31-0, and Hoover knocked off Bob Jones 26-18. Thompson defeated Florence 45-13, and Hewitt-Trussville beat James Clemens 43-41.
