Promotions Announced By Shelby County Sheriff

Two lieutenants with the Shelby County Sheriff's Office have been promoted to captain.

SHELBY COUNTY, AL — Two lieutenants with the Shelby County Sheriff's Office have been promoted, according to Sheriff John Samaniego.

Lt. Mark Bishop and Lt. Jason Myrick have been promoted to the rank of captain.

"I am honored to announce the promotions of Lieutenant Mark Bishop and Lieutenant Jason Myrick to the rank of Captain, Samaniego said. "Throughout the years, these men have demonstrated excelled leadership, initiative, and responsibility at the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office. I know they will continue to succeed in their new roles, and I look forward to their continued service to our community."

Bishop will command the Administrative Division, and Myrick will command the Criminal Investigations Division. Captain Kevin Turner will now command the Patrol Division after the retirement of Patrol Captain Mike DeHart.
