Here are the top three stories today in Hoover:

  1. The Jefferson County Department of Health has released its inspection scores for food establishments throughout the county. Locations throughout Hoover did uniformly well, receiving scores from the high eighties all the way up to a perfect 100. These inspections are performed throughout the year to verify the scores.   2. A sixth-grade Bumpus Middle School student has won the Miss Yellowhammer State Preteen Pageant for the second year in a row. Lucy Helland, 12, will now advance to the USA National Preteen Pageant in Hollywood Florida in 2o23. Helland also placed first runner-up in the national pageant in July. She also serves as an ambassador for Garret's Place, an organization that helps foster children. (Hoover Sun)
  3. The Hoover Fire Department will be escorting Santa Claus around town today in honor of Christmas Eve. Firefighters will be driving Santa around in fire engines between 3:00 p.m. and 9:30 pm. to help him scout neighborhoods. (Hoover Sun)
