Search For Missing Hoover Teen Continues

Hoover teenager Ajah Blackledge remains missing since January 29 when she left home to go to class.

HOOVER, AL - The search for a missing 18-year-old Hoover woman has been ongoing for more than two weeks now, and law enforcement have followed numerous leads but there is still no sign of Ajah Blackledge. She was last seen on January 29 at approximately 8:30 a.m. in Hoover. She has not had any contact with her family since.

What police do know is that Blackledge visited a Compass Bank ATM on Montgomery Highway to withdraw money. Nine minutes later, she was at McDonald's across the street from the Riverchase Galleria picking up breakfast. She was reportedly on her way to class at Lawson State Community College. She did not show up for class that morning.

Despite leads that Blackledge had been seen in Fairfield, Bessemer and other parts of the Birmingham metro, police say none of the leads they have received have brought them closer to finding the missing teen. Hoover PD investigators said Blackledgle's cell phone has been turned off, aside from a small window of time February 7th when police say the phone was possibly activated in Hollywood, Florida.
