Shelby County Woman Faces Child Abuse Charges

A Shelby County mother is accused of abandoning her children on New Year's Eve to search for drugs.

SHELBY COUNTY, AL — A Shelby County woman has been charged with multiple child abuse offenses after police say she left her three children home alone New Year's Even while she searched for drugs. An Alabama Media Group report said 38-year-old Ashley Alissa Holley was booked into the Shelby County Jail Feb. 4.

Holley faces six counts of willful abuse of a child and two counts of chemical endangerment. All three of Holley's children are under the age of 12.
