Shooting In Hoover Apartment Complex Under Investigation

HOOVER, AL — The Hoover Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred Tuesday night at The Park at Deerfield apartments. A 24-year-old male was reported shot during the incident, which occurred just before 9 p.m.

Hoover police said the victim told detectives he answered a knock at his door and encountered a man with a rifle. He said he closed the door and the suspect fired a round that went through the door and struck him in the arm.

Witnesses stated three black male suspects were observed running from the scene, according to the police report. Although the investigation is in its initial stages, it appears that the victim was specifically targeted, police said.
