Shooting Investigation In Jefferson County Leads To Drug Arrest
An investigation into a shooting led deputies to a drug arrest Tuesday night in Jefferson County.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL — What began as an investigation into shots fired near Mulga Tuesday night ended up in a drug arrest. A person who reportedly witnessed the shots fired, 22-year-old Ja’Mikel Antres Hackman, was arrested and charged with multiple drug offenses.
Sgt. Joni Money of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said deputies responded to the shooting report and encountered Hackman, who reportedly gave deputies a false name. Money said once his true identity was determined, Hackman was found to have an outstanding felony warrant.
While taking Hackman into custody, deputies discovered he was in possession of cocaine, methamphetamine, marijuana, identifications and credit cards belonging to others, Money said.

Hackman was placed in the Jefferson County Jail on the charges of trafficking in stolen identities, illegal possession of a credit card, unlawful possession of controlled substances, obstruction of justice, promoting contraband, unlawful possession of marijuana and failure to appear for obstruction of justice.
