Shooting At Wisteria Apartments Leaves One Victim Dead
The Hoover Police Department is investigating a homicide at Wisteria Apartments Thursday afternoon.

HOOVER, AL - A shooting at the Wisteria Apartments in Hoover Thursday afternoon resulted in the death of a 29-year-old man. The Hoover Police Department is investigating the case as a homicide.
Hoover police reported that at 2:44 p.m., Hoover PD and Fire Department responded to Wisteria Apartments on a report of a person shot. Officers arrived on the scene to find a 29-year-old black male lying in the parking lot suffering from at least one gunshot wound.
Medics pronounced the victim deceased at 3:02 p.m. Witnesses stated the victim and another male were initially involved in a verbal argument in the parking lot of the 1300 building. The victim walked to his vehicle and reportedly retrieved a handgun, approached the male again and the altercation continued and shots were fired.

The shooter fled the scene, but later turned himself in to Hoover police. Detectives interviewed him and after consulting with the Jefferson County DA’s office, he was released pending further investigation.
