Shots Fired At Hoover Police Officer After ATM Theft
Three suspects are being sought after shots were fired at a Hoover police officer during an ATM theft.

HOOVER, AL - Three suspects are being saught by Hoover police after shots were fired at an officer during an ATM theft early Thursday morning.
According to a report by the Hoover PD, at 2:17 A.M., Hoover police responded to a burglary in progress at Walgreens, located at 5271 Ross Bridge Parkway. An alarm company received an activation at the business and observed three black male suspects on video taking an ATM and loading it onto a flatbed truck. A Hoover Police officer in the area got behind the vehicle and attempted to stop it on John Hawkins Parkway.
One of the suspects in the truck fired multiple shots at the officer, with at least one round striking his vehicle. The officer, who was not injured, lost sight of the suspects after they continued fleeing with their headlights off. Other responding officers located the suspect vehicle abandoned on Highway 150 near the intersection of Pyne Drive with the ATM still in the bed of the truck.

Reports say the suspect vehicle had been reported stolen out of Midfield last month. There are no suspects in custody at this time. Anyone with any information about this case is asked to call Detective Drew Mims at 205-739-7274.
