Here are the top three stories today in Hoover:
- The Southeastern Conference (SEC) has a deal in place to keep the baseball tournament in Hoover for the next two years. On Friday at the annual SEC spring meetings in Destin, SEC commissioner Greg Sankey said the conference hoped to have the deal finalized soon. Once finalized, the deal will keep the tournament at the Hoover Metropolitan Stadium until at least 2024. (AL.com)
- Rosters have been announced for the AHSAA North-South All-Star tennis squads. Hoover's No. 1 singles runner-up Samuel Sellers and his teammate, No. 3 singles runner-up and No. 1 doubles runner-up Gavin Patton, were selected for the boys North All-Stars. Coaches for North boys are Michael Higginbotham of Hewitt-Trussville and Brad Armstrong of Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa. Congratulations to all! (AL.com)
- If you're looking for some fun this weekend, take a drive over to the Lakeview District for Lakeview Hullabaloo. Slice Pizza and Moe's Original BBQ are coming together to host the event today from 2:00 p.m. until midnight. A portion of proceeds from the event will benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Through previous events, Slice Pizza and Moe's Original BBQ have raised over $90,000 combined for nonprofits. (Hoover Sun)
