Spain Park's Sarah Ashlee Barker Commits To UGA

HOOVER, AL - Spain Park basketball star Sarah Ashlee Barker has made an official announcement that she will play her collegiate ball at the University of Georgia. Barker made the announcement via social media Monday morning.

"Alabama football will always have a special place in my heart, but it's time to do what's best for me," Barker said. "With that being said, I am 10000% committed to the University of Georgia."

Barker, who is the daughter of former University of Alabama quarterback Jay Barker, was recruited by schools all over the country, and had narrowed her choices down to Alabama, Auburn and Georgia. She was an All-State selection last year after leading the Jags to the state championship last season, and as a junior this year looks to lead Spain Park back to the same spot. The 5'9" guard came close to averaging a double-double last season with 14 points and 9.1 rebounds per game.
