Here are the top three stories in Hoover today:

  1. Three teachers at Hoover City Schools were recognized with the 2023 Teachers in the Trenches award. The award, presented by The Finley Committee, recognizes teachers annually at each school level who go above and beyond to serve their students. The recipients were Monica Horner of Deer Valley Middle School, Allison Winterberger of Simmons Middle School, and Jordan Sherrell of Hoover High School. (Hoover Sun)
  2. Hoover native James Tarbox has been named a Pike County district attorney. Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey appointed Tarbox the Twelfth Judicial Circuit District Attorney after former district attorney Tom Anderson retired. Tarbox will represent both Pike and Coffee Counties.
