Teens Arrested After Hoover Carjacking
Two teens were taken into custody after a police chase resulted from an early morning carjacking at a Hoover apartment complex.

HOOVER, AL — A carjacking in Hoover early Tuesday morning led to a chase that eventually ended in two teens arrested by Hoover police. Police officials identified the suspects as Shamar Le’Ron Nixon and Zykeise Miller. Both are 17 and charged as adults with first-degree robbery.
Hoover police responded at 1:12 a.m. Tuesday to the Park at Hoover apartments on a report of a robbery outside of the 5600 building. The victim told police he and two of his friends were getting out of a vehicle when a white SUV driven by a female pulled up behind them. Two males, both armed with handguns, got out of the SUV and demanded the victims’ belongings, according to a Hoover PD report.
The suspects then reportedly fled in the victim's vehicle, followed by the white SUV. Officers spotted the victim’s vehicle traveling north on Lorna Road and a pursuit ensued when the suspects refused to stop. The vehicle continued onto Interstate 65 northbound and then to Interstate 20/59 westbound. The vehicle then hit a curb and deflated at least two tires, according to the report. The suspects then fled on foot.
