Weight Loss Clinic Expands To 280 Corridor
Profile by Sanford opened in August along U.S. Highway 280 in the Lee Branch shopping center.
SHELBY COUNTY, AL — A medical weight loss franchise expanded its footprint in Birmingham, opening a location at the Lee Branch shopping center on the 280 corridor.
Dr. Jay Sharma, medical director of the acute stroke program at Brookwood Baptist Medical Center, is the owner of the business and also owns the Vestavia Hills location and The Grove location in Hoover.
A Birmingham Business Journal report said the clinic emphasizes a personalized weight loss program rooted in science and research revolving around nutrition, activity and lifestyle.

“If you ask me, this is the future of medicine. So right now, we feel that can give you a healthier life by controlling your risk factors by putting you on medications. In 30 years from now we will say, ‘No that was bad. The right answer is if you stay at your ideal weight, you will not need any medications.’ And that’s where Profile can bring you to,” Sharma said.
