Two workers became trapped when a trench collapsed on Twin Pine Circle.
HOOVER, AL — Hoover fire officials spent more than two hours trying to rescue two workers who became trapped after a trench collapsed on their work site on Tuesday. When firefighters removed the debris from the trench, they discovered the men dead.
The accident happened on Twin Pine Circle, just across Preserve Parkway from The Grove, according to a WBRC report. The trench is about 8-feet deep and the workers were found about seven feet down.
Officials say the workers were installing drainage pipe when the trench collapsed. The men have not been identified, but worked for Water Drainage Solutions.
