  1. A Mobile student is the first Black female to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout in Alabama. Jakayla Armstrong took three years to earn the Boy Scouts' highest honor — while working two jobs, completing early college classes, playing three sports, and participating in Girl Scouts. Armstrong now joins the elite rank that only six percent of scouts obtain. (AL.com)
  2. The Mobile Police Department has arrested a man who attempted to enter a truck near the Best Buy off Tingle Circle. Robert Gornto, 29, was arrested after the store's alarm system was activated. He has been charged with Unlawful Breaking and Entering a Vehicle and the Possession of Burglary Tools. (WKRG News 5)
  3. The widow of longtime Alabama Congressman Sonny Callahan has died during a car crash on Riviere Du Chien Road. The incident occurred on Thursday after Karen Callahan had a medical emergency while operating the vehicle. She drove the vehicle down the driveway, through bushes, and over a retaining wall. (WDHN)
