- The City of Mobile Animal Shelter director has resigned as Mayor Sandy Stimpson announced a restructuring of the City of Mobile Animal Shelter's leadership. The shelter will now be managed by Executive Director of Administrative Services, Joe Snowden, rather than the Mobile Police Department. Over the last two years, the shelter has faced several challenges including increased demand for animal control services and manpower shortages due to COVID-19.(NBC 15 WPMI)
- A shortage for auto mechanics has prompted some Mobile-area employers to offer sign-on bonuses. Sources say they've been having a difficult time finding qualified individuals that are willing to come in and get started. The TechForce Foundation projected last year that the shortage of auto, diesel, and collision techs through 2024 will total 642,000. (FOX10 News)
