Here are the top stories today in Mobile:
- Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk will be coming to Mobile on Oct. 31 at Cooper Riverside Park. This walk will help to raise money to fund the cancer research and patient services funded by the American Cancer Society. Making Strides is the largest network of breast cancer events in the nation. (WKRG News 5)
- The Mobile Area Water and Sewer System updates numbers on the sewer overflows that were caused by Tropical Storm Nicholas. A health officer for Mobile County advises area residents to avoid any standing water that may have accumulated due to these overflows. Anyone who has come into contact with any untreated sewage is advised to wash their hands and clothing thoroughly. (FOX10 News)
- The Gulf Coast Auto Group donated $10,000 to Wilmer Hall Children's Home during the opening of their new Porsche dealership. (NBC 15 WPMI)
- The Dwell Mobile organization, which specializes in helping refugee families settle into their new life, pledges to help incoming Afghan refugees. (FOX10 News)
- Outokumpu, a stainless steel manufacturer, will be holding a COVID-19 vaccine clinic in north Mobile County on Saturday, Sept. 18. (WKRG News 5)
