The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Mobile.

Hi all! I'm back in your inbox this summer morning with everything you need to know about what's happening in town today.I'll get right to it.
First, today's weather:
Humid; an afternoon t-storm. High: 90 Low: 79.
Here are the top three stories today in Mobile:
- The Mobile City Council wants answers regarding the firing of Bishop State Community College President. Dr. Lawrence Brandyburg was fired from his position in June. State legislators reportedly want an investigation into why five different individuals have led the two-year college since 2015. (NBC 15 WPMI)
- There is controversy surrounding a new historical marker about Richard Robertson. The marker was installed on Thursday in downtown Mobile. Supporters want the marker to remind residents of the city's history of extrajudicial killings. Opponents are arguing about the marker's location and have concerns about Robertson's alleged killing of a Mobile County Sheriff's Deputy in 1909. Either way, he did not get a trial. (UTV 44)
- The Mobile Police Department reports that they believe a suspect in custody is tied to a number of burglaries that occurred throughout Mobile. Kendale Miller, 23, was arrested after shooting someone in the knee on Bristol Court following a car break-in. He is facing seven felony charges. The department reports that the investigation is still ongoing. (NBC 15 WPMI)
