  1. Coronavirus cases are trending down in Mobile County — a good sign and a significant improvement since last month, according to local health officials. On Aug. 17, 486 people in Mobile were in the hospital with COVID; as of Sept. 23, there are 138. "The numbers are getting better, but it is not over," said Mobile County Health Officer Dr. Bert Eichold. Dr. Eichold reports that approximately 41 percent of the population is fully vaccinated; doctors are aiming for 70 to 80 percent to reach herd immunity. (WKRG News 5)
  2. A man who allegedly kidnapped a teenager in the parking lot of Troubadours last week is now back in Mobile and due in court. Morris Linson, Jr. was booked into Metro Jail Thursday morning. Troubadors owner and manager Chris Sherman has made the call to no longer allow people under 21 to enter the bar and will be increasing Mobile Police security presence on weekend evenings.   3. The Rocking for Alzheimer's Caregiver Summit will be held at the Grounds in Mobile on Oct. 2 from 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (FOX10 News)
  4. Mobile Police have arrested a family member of a 5-year-old boy who was shot in the foot at the Neighborhood Walmart on Tuesday. (WKRG News 5)
  5. The Mobile County Health Department announced they'll start offering another tool to help fight COVID-19: monoclonal antibodies, or lab-created proteins that mimic the body's immune system to rapidly fight off a virus. (FOX10 News)
