Here are the top three stories today in Mobile:

1. The Mobile Police Department is hosting its Crime Prevention 5K Run/Walk on Aug. 2 at 6:30 p.m. The event will be in downtown Mobile with post-race activities occurring at Bienville Square on Dauphin Street. 3. The Mobile Fire-Rescue Department has purchased nine new vehicles for $4 million. The new fleet expansion will reportedly allow the department to maintain neighborhood safety measures.
