🌱 Driver Crashes In Midtown Mobile + Cannon's Rainbow Paint Defaced

Morning, Mobile! It's me, Nicole Fallon-Peek, your host of the Daily. Let's get this Thursday started off right, with a quick dive into everything you need to know about what's happening these days in town.
First, today's weather:
An afternoon thunderstorm. High: 97 Low: 79.
Here are the top three stories in Mobile today:
- A reckless driver crashed their vehicle into a building in Midtown Mobile on Wednesday afternoon. The incident occurred on South Florida Street. The driver reportedly ran away from the scene. Thankfully, nobody in the photography studio was injured during the incident. (Fox 10 News)
- The Mobile Police Department has made a third arrest in the killing of an 11-year-old Mobile boy. Anthony Jerome Shinn, 20-years-old, was arrested on Wednesday on charges of felony murder, shooting into an occupied dwelling, and shooting into a vehicle. The department has also arrested Cameron Walker and Tyrik Dubose. (Fox 10 News)
- The rainbow paint scheme of Mobile's landmark cannon has been defaced. The rainbow paint was meant to celebrate LGBTQ+ Pride Month. 37-year-old Phillip Douglas Dean has been arrested for painting the cannon with black paint. He has been charged with criminal mischief and outstanding warrants. The cannon will be restored to its rainbow paint. (AL.com)
