Here are the top three stories in Mobile today:

  1. The Moblie Police Department arrested Jonathan Patrick Hughes in connection with a gas station shooting. The incident occurred at Pride Gas Station at 1920, St. Stephens Road, around 10 p.m. on Feb. 4, where a victim was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Hughes was charged with first-degree assault and certain persons forbidden to carry a pistol. (FOX10 News)
  2. On Wednesday morning, a Mobile Bay mariner was rescued by Coast Guard. A 31-foot sailing vessel was in distress due to harsh weather conditions, so a helicopter crew came and hoisted and transported the mariner to the Gulf Shores. No one was injured and the mariner is in stable conditions. (FOX10 News)
  3. A Mobile native is set to star on this upcoming season of 'American Idol.' Tyler Allen, a former Voices of Mobile singer, can be seen in the trailer, wooing Katy Perry. The new season premieres on Feb. 27 on ABC. (WKRG News 5)
