Here are the top three stories today in Mobile:
- The Mobile Police Department's Financial Crimes Unit is warning the community about an increase in gift card scams. According to the department, some victims have provided scammers with their credit card information. If you have believed to have been scammed, you can fill out a report online. (WKRG News 5)
- A Mobile man has been charged in a fatal 2019 shooting at a Georgia's Club Boss. Mobile native Morgan Baker fatally shot Tamarco Santel just outside of the breezeway, and months passed before authorities arrested Baker in Alabama. At Houston County Superior Court on Monday, Baker faced three counts: malice murder, felony murder, and death caused by shooting a firearm. (NBC 15 WPMI)
- Mayor Sandy Stimpson's office has released the City of Mobile's first comprehensive Five-Year Capital Improvement (CIP) Plan and an online dashboard for citizens to track active city projects across the community. The latest Five-Year Capital Improvement Plan outlines in detail more than $200 million dollars in planned projects scheduled to take place between 2022 and 2026. (NBC 15 WPMI)
