Here are the top stories in Mobile today:

  1. The Marketplace enrollment period for health insurance opened on November 1 for Mobile residents. Marketplace is a federal program that allows residents to enroll in health coverage plans including Medicare programs and private government-sponsored ones. Residents can enroll in the program through an online health insurance application. (WKRG News 5)
  2. Jeremiah William, a 23-year-old Mobile man, said COVID-19 has changed his life forever, after being placed on a ventilator earlier this summer. During his four-month incubation, he developed bedsores that turned into a deep wound on his back and woke up to the news that he'd lost both his mother and grandmother to coronavirus. To help him and his family make ends meet, the Mobile community came together to raise money to cover medical bills and other payments like groceries and utilities. (NBC 15 WPMI)
  3. The Mobile Police Department is currently investigating three separate shootings that took place in broad daylight on Wednesday. The victims received non-life-threatening injuries. Police said these are ongoing investigations. (FOX10 News)
  4. Hundreds of cheerleaders in Mobile competed at the 2021 AHSAA Southern Super Regional Cheer Competition. (NBC 15 WPMI)
