Here are the top stories today in Mobile:

  1. An Ascension Providence Hospital employee is now without a job over the facility's COVID-19 vaccination requirement. Raneisha Kirksey, a nursing assistant who has been with the hospital for nine years, was told she had until Nov. 12 to "get the shot or get out," despite the fact that Kirksey says she has a medical reason not to get vaccinated. Ascension Providence is currently the only hospital in Mobile with a vaccine mandate and has not revealed the percentage of vaccinated workers or whether exemptions have been granted. (NBC 15 WPMI)
  2. A 19-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries Thursday when a gunman pulled up next to his car on Springhill Avenue near the Mobile Infirmary and fired several shots into his vehicle. The victim, whom police did not identify, suffered injuries to his chest and face.

  3. The top three highest-earning zip codes in the Mobile metro area — 36528 (Dauphin Island), 36505 (Axis), and 36695 (Mobile) — all have a median household income of over $69,000, and more than 30 percent of households earn six figures. (WKRG News 5)
  4. A 21-year-old woman has been charged with reckless endangerment after her two children, ages 3 and 5, were found alone in their apartment, Mobile Police say. (WKRG News 5)
  5. The popular Cedar Point fishing pier near Dauphin Island is being sold to Mobile County for more than $2 million. (NBC 15 WPMI)
