Here are the top three stories today in Mobile:

  1. The City of Mobile has partnered with nonprofit Mission Serve to paint houses in Crichton and Toulminville. The partnership will also repair the five selected homes. Mission Serve is a faith-based nonprofit founded in 2003. The nonprofit's mission is to serve the community through volunteerism and community involvement. (Lagniappe)
  2. The City of Mobile has been sued by officers within the Mobile Police Department's K-9 unit. The group is alleging the city owes them overtime related to the care and feeding of assigned K-9 units. Officers Lt. Patrick McKean, Cpl. Joshua Evans, and Cpl. William Byrd are accusing the city of breaking the Fair Labor and Standards Act. (NBC 15 WPMI)
  3. The City of Mobile is currently accepting applications for its upcoming Y.E.S. Fall Internship Program that begins on Nov. 1. Applications will be accepted through Aug. 12. The program began in 2016 to connect Mobile youth with education, life, and job resources. (NBC 15 WPMI)
