- A Mobile man faces a slew of charges after a vehicle and foot pursuit this weekend. 37-year-old Bryan Ellard was charged with theft of property, unlawful breaking and entering a vehicle, attempting to elude police, reckless endangerment, and resisting arrest. Officers spotted a stolen vehicle near Halls Mill Road and Swedetown Road Saturday afternoon and tried to initiate a traffic stop. The driver, later identified as Ellard, refused to stop and led officers on a short vehicle pursuit before crashing into a parked car and continuing the chase on foot. (FOX10 News)
- The Mobile Chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) held an emergency news conference via Zoom to addressed concerns about the Mobile City Council Runoff Elections. News surfaced last week about out-of-town conservative special interest groups endorsing several candidates, including the late Levon Manzie, leaving some to believe super PACs are financially supporting candidates who will help with a hidden annexation agenda. Some voters believe annexation will shake up the racial makeup of Mobile and lead to communities of color suffering. (NBC 15 WPMI)
