🌱 Man Crashes Car With Pregnant Passenger + Dr. Eichold Retires

Here are the top three stories in Mobile today:
- The Mobile Police Department is looking for a man who allegedly crashed a vehicle with three passengers inside, one of whom was pregnant. According to MPD, officers tried to arrest the driver during a traffic stop after he was found with active felony warrants. The suspect then allegedly led police on a brief chase ending in a crash on Murwood Court; he then escaped on foot and has not been seen since. (WKRG News 5)
- On Thursday, Mobile County Health Department Health Officer Dr. Bert Eichold retired after 31 years of service. Eichold stated the pandemic has been the greatest challenge in public health as well as in his own career. Dr. Kevin Michael, a Mobile occupational medicine physician, will fill the Health Officer role. (WKRG News 5)
- Two suspects in the "Walmart Manifesto" case have been detained in Mobile. Sean Bottorff and Alexander Olson, along with three other individuals, stand accused of participating in a plot resulting in fires at four Walmarts across Alabama and Mississippi. (Fox 10 News)

- Mobile police are investigating after a woman was shot on Duval Street. The victim was shot in the face; according to investigating officers, her injuries are non-life-threatening. (WKRG News 5)
- OWA is partnering with the Mobile County Animal Shelter for its fifth annual "St. Pawtty's Day" celebration. Proceeds from the event, scheduled for Mar. 12, will go toward the animal shelter. (WKRG News 5)
