Here are the top three stories in Mobile today:
- The Mobile Police Department has announced new measures to improve its mental health crisis response. The department is working with AltaPointe's Behavioral Health Crisis Center to offer better mental health intervention and de-escalation training for its officers. The training will hopefully provide the officers with better techniques to calm a situation when they experience a mental health issue. (WKRG News 5)
- Jamesia Elizabeth Jordan has been charged with three counts of breaking by the Mobile Police Department. Officers detained Jordan after responding to the 3300 block of Essex Place on Tuesday night. She will participate in a bond hearing today for the charges. (Fox 10 News)
- According to Gulf Coast AutoTech, catalytic converter thefts in Mobile have decreased after the arrest of Ryan Holmes in April. Last year, 320 catalytic converters were stolen. Over 200 have been stolen so far this year. Anyone with information about any of Holmes' associates is being asked to contact the department's auto theft unit. (UTV 44)
