Here are the top three stories today in Mobile:
- The Mobile Police Department is searching for a missing man who has dementia. 77-year-old Theodore Adams was reported missing Friday, Apr. 22 after walking away from his senior living community home, and has not been found as of yesterday evening. Anyone with information about Adams' disappearance or whereabouts is asked to contact the MPD at 251-208-7211. (WKRG News 5)
- On Friday, a van drove through a barrier and into the swimming pool at the Econo Lodge on I-65 in Mobile. When news crews arrived midday, the van was partially in the pool, while the metal and concrete barrier had been smashed. According to a bystander, the driver's foot had gotten stuck on the vehicle's accelerator; fortunately, she was not injured in the crash. (Fox 10 News)
- The Mobile Public Library is celebrating 120 years of service with a series of youth-oriented community events. On Saturday, Apr. 30, children ages 8-19 are invited to register for the annual Poetry Slam-A-Rama at the Virginia Dillard Smith/Toulminville Branch Library. - Though Russian-flagged ships are no longer welcome in the U.S., officials with the Port of Mobile don't expect much of an impact. Russian ships are rare in Mobile, and the port continues to post record growth. (Fox 10 News)
