MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. -- At its regular conference on Sept. 9, 2021, Mobile County Commission held a moment of silence, recognized those who serve and declared Sept. 11, 2021 A Day of Service and Remembrance in Mobile County. and , in response to the attacks of the Twin Towers in New York City, the Pentagon in Washington, DC, and United Airlines Flight 93 in Pennsylvania, first responders immediately answered the call to heroically save lives; recovery workers joined with uniformed officers and military personnel to locate victims lost in the attacks; and thousands of people in the United States spontaneously volunteered to directly support those recovery efforts; and , in response to the attacks of the Twin Towers in New York City, the Pentagon in Washington, DC, and United Airlines Flight 93 in Pennsylvania, first responders immediately answered the call to heroically save lives; recovery workers joined with uniformed officers and military personnel to locate victims lost in the attacks; and thousands of people in the United States spontaneously volunteered to directly support those recovery efforts;
