Here are the top three stories in Mobile today:
- The Mobile Police Department has officially begun its Summer Community Days. The series of events is meant to prevent youth violence within the community while strengthening the family structure. The first Community Day will be on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Baumhauers-Randle Park. Click the link for a full list of organizations participating in the program. (WKRG News 5)
- The City of Mobile is struggling to find enough lifeguards to operate city pools and aquatic centers. According to Deputy Director of Public Works Shonnda Smith, the city is beginning to offer the return of training funds to lifeguards at the end of the season to entice more residents to apply. - The Mobile Police Department located a runaway teenager on Saturday — behind the wheel of a stolen vehicle. The incident reportedly occurred on Sollie Road after a vehicle was reported stolen in Mobile County. The 12-year-old runaway was arrested and taken to Strickland Youth Center. (WKRG News 5)
