- Plans for two Mobile County high school football stadiums are officially moving forward. The Mobile County Board of Education voted yesterday to approve the bids for the first two of the five stadium projects, at LeFlore High School and Vigor High School. The plans, each of which has a budget of over $5 million, include concession stands, lockers, and artificial turf fields, and are expected to be built by August 2022. (WKRG News 5)
- The Mobile Chief of Police will swear in 16 new police officers today at the 67th Police Academy graduation ceremony. The public is invited to attend the ceremony, which will take place at 2 p.m. at the Cottage Hill Baptist Church. (WKRG News 5)
- A Mobile shooting outside a convenience store at the corner of Cuba and Congress Streets on Sunday sent one woman to the hospital. (FOX10 News)
- With 48 homicides in the City of Mobile so far in 2021, it is now the second-deadliest year on record in the last 20 years. (NBC 15 WPMI)
- On Dec. 2, 2021, at 6 pm, the Mobile Museum of Art will host Alabama historian Scotty E. Kirkland at the University of South Alabama's Marx Library for a lecture about state and local Civil Rights history, inspired by the special exhibition, "Gordon Parks: Segregation Story in Mobile, 1956."
