Here are the top three stories today in Mobile:
- Officials with the Mobile County Sheriff's Office announced that one person is dead after being hit by a vehicle on Sunday morning. The victim, now identified as Henry Hernandez, was hit and killed by a vehicle. The suspect is Johana Suarez, 37. According to officials, both were from Miami and were in a romantic relationship. (WKRG News 5)
- A rash of grass fires happened on Friday across Mobile and Baldwin County. Mobile Fire-Rescue battled a total of 9 fires. The Alabama Forestry Commission released a statement Friday sending out a word of caution that March is typically the month with the highest number of wildfires due to the low humidity and windy conditions. They urge people to be careful with any outdoor burning. (Fox 10 News)
- The Royal Hanneford Circus is at the Grounds in Mobile. According to Ringmaster Timothy Noel Tegge, "The Hanneford Circus is probably the oldest established circus family in the world realistically. Nine generations date back to 1692." (WKRG News 5)
