Good morning, people of Mobile! Sean Peek here with a fresh issue of the Mobile Daily.

First, today's weather:

A few showers in the morning. High: 67 Low: 59.

Here are the top three stories today in Mobile:

  1. As the Mobile redistricting debate continues, some council members are pulling their support to get it passed. The Tuesday meeting reportedly became heated at times between council members who disagreed. The council has six months to make any changes to the map and must be passed by a supermajority (five of the seven council members). If not, the map as submitted will become law. (NBC 15 WPMI)
  2. Alabama officials are warning the federal government that the Amtrak restoration along Gulf Coast may harm Port of Mobile. Officials within the state testified Tuesday to the U.S. Surface Transportation Board that the move could cause economic harm to the key job generator in Alabama. (AL.com)
  3. The City of Mobile is looking to add another recycling center after positive results of a survey were revealed. The survey found that 70 percent of Mobilians find it very important to recycle with many being interested in additional options to recycle. As of now, an Alabama Department of Environmental Management grant is being worked on. If awarded, it would help create a new recycling drop-off center. (FOX10 News)
