Here are the top three stories in Mobile today:

  1. Mobile residents took the streets on Saturday to protest the United States Supreme Court's overturn of Roe v. Wade. The protestors gathered in downtown Mobile with signs demanding the supreme court reverse its decision. The crowd of protestors was comprised of residents of all ages. (AL.com)
  2. The price of the proposed Mobile River bridge has increased to $2.7 billion. The bridge is meant to relieve traffic congestion on the Gulf Coast at Mobile through Interstate 10. The bridge is estimated to be completed by late 2028 if construction begins in 2023. The current bridge is meant to handle 35,000 vehicles each day - but it currently handles 100,000. (Meridian Star)
  3. Mobile's Americas Best Value Inn & Suites at 162 West I-65 Service Road North has been temporarily closed. The closure is due to complaints of crime and various code violations. The code violations were discovered by code enforcement officers and include unsafe structure violations and major fire code issues. (NBC 15 WPMI)
