Schools Announce Closings Ahead Of Hurricane Michael

MOBILE, AL - As Hurricane Michael makes its way toward Alabama, several schools announced they will be closed Wednesday in anticipation of the Category 3 storm. Winds could gust to hurricane force over Geneva and Houston counties late Wednesday and Wednesday night, with potential for downed trees and power lines. Rain amounts of 3-5 inches are likely with potential for flash flooding. Winds could gust to 40 mph (tropical storm force) as far north as Greenville, Troy and Eufaula.

Covington County
-Andalusia City Schools - closed Wednesday
-Opp City Schools- closed Wednesday

Crenshaw County
-Crenshaw County Schools - Tuesday after school activities canceled, closed Wednesday
