🌱 State's First Monkeypox Case + Chinese Restaurant Pleads Guilty

Here are the top three stories today in Mobile:

  1. The Mobile County Health Department has confirmed the state's first case of Monkeypox. A Mobile County resident contracted the disease after traveling to three different states in three weeks. The county is currently monitoring individuals that came into contact with the confirmed case. Anyone with an unexplained rash should see their health care provider immediately. (Fox 10 News)
  2. A teen and her boyfriend have been charged after stabbing the girl's father. According to the Mobile Police Department, 19-year-old Benjamin Kelso has been arrested for menacing after threatening his girlfriend's father with a firearm. The father was treated at the scene by first responders. (WKRG News 5)
  3. Another Mobile Chinese restaurant has pleaded guilty in a federal case of money laundering. Yan Jiao Zuho pleads guilty to a lesser charge of employing illegal immigrants and is now facing a maximum of 6 months in federal prison. The defunct China Super Buffet operated on Airport Boulevard. This is the 4th Mobile-based Chinese restaurant to plead guilty. (Fox 10 News)
