🌱Texas Street Rebuild + House Fire Near Bishop State

Here are the top stories in Mobile today:

  1. On Sunday, the city of Mobile announced that a new project to rebuild Texas Street will begin on Monday, Nov. 29, in Mobile. This project was a priority for the late district Two councilman, Levon Manzie. It will include new streets, curbs, and gutters, as well as new water, stormwater, sewer, and gas components.   2. Mobile Fire Rescue crews responded to a house fire near Bishop State Community College's central campus. The call came in at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday morning for a house on Ryland's Street. Nobody was home at the time of the fire and no one was hurt. (WKRG News 5)
  3. Mobile Parks and Recreation is committed to hosting outdoor events during the pandemic in order to give people a chance to spend time with their loved ones. (utv44.com)
  4. Mobile Bay National Estuary Program is working with restaurants to 'Ditch the Disposables' and find real solutions for the environment and the customers ordering takeout, as non-recyclable containers are now very common pollutants. (NBC 15 WPMI)
  5. A new University of South Alabama student housing complex called Ivy Row South is coming next fall. (al.com)
