Here are the top three stories in Mobile today:
- This week, Visit Mobile announced its line-up of Free April Walking Tours. Visitors and residents of Downton can enjoy strolls dedicated to Mardi Gras, Black history, and the Mobile food scene. Check out the dates and times at the link. (Fox 10 News)
- On Thursday, roughly 40 acres of forest brush were incinerated in a brush fire outside of the city. Though a few smoldering embers remain, the Mobile Fire-Rescue Department says the blaze did not affect any populated areas. (WKRG News 5)
- In a vote on Wednesday, The Mobile Airport Authority moved to officially rename Downtown Mobile Airport to Mobile International Airport. The rechristening is just one part of a larger renovation. "The facility will have the capability to handle international cargo and international passengers," said Mobile Airport Authority President Chris Curry. (Biloxi Sun Herald)

- Earth Day is approaching, and Mobile County is ready to celebrate. The County Commission has a post promoting this year's events and seeking volunteers. (Facebook)
- Earth Day's not the only sacred holiday on the horizon. The local CBD shop CannaBama will hold a 4/20 celebration at Bienville Square in downtown Mobile. (Lagniappe)
- More good news from the County Commission. While many other metros struggle to build new homes, even amid a housing crisis, Mobile County is breaking records for new residential development. 479 projects broke ground in 2020 and 573 began in 2021. (Facebook)
