Here are the top three stories in Mobile today:
- The Mobile Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred at a PNC bank near St. Stephens Road on Wednesday. According to the report, a man shot from his vehicle into another vehicle — injuring one of the vehicle's passengers. The shooting victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment. (WKRG News 5)
- The World Champions Trophy Tour is coming to Mobile on May 13. The Atlanta Braves will be showcasing its hard-won World Series trophy during a special celebration at Cooper Riverside Park from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The celebration is free and everyone is invited! (City of Mobile)
- The nonprofit Companion Animal Parasite Council has forecasted a significant threat of heartworm disease for Mobile area pets. The threat is due to warm weather and humidity occurring in the Mobile area, which creates the perfect breeding ground for mosquitos to transfer heartworm larvae to pets. The council is advising Mobile pet owners to speak with a local veterinarian about monthly heartworm protection. It is significantly cheaper to prevent heartworm infection than it is to treat one.
