Local schools and nonprofits can learn how to join the National School Lunch, Breakfast, and Afterschool Snack programs, gaining guidance on regulations and how to become approved Child Nutrition Program sponsors serving students across Alabama.

2. Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts announces new director (waka.com) β Montgomery's Museum of Fine Arts has named veteran museum leader Guy Vanderpool as its new director, a key hire as the institution approaches its 100th anniversary. He'll serve as a Montgomery city employee, working with Mayor Steven Reed, city cultural leaders, and museum boards to expand community engagement, fundraising, and the museum's impact on local residents.

I STILL BELIEVE National Gospel Tour Brings Music and Community Outreach to Montgomery, AL (praiserichmond.com) β Montgomery residents can catch a free "I STILL BELIEVE" gospel concert at Greater Kingdom Cathedral on Friday, Sept. 25, featuring nationally recognized artists and local host Robert Copeland. The tour will also honor Montgomery nonprofit C.H.A.N.G.E. with a grant and return the next day to help distribute donations to unhoused neighbors, shelters, and the Salvation Army.

4. GA Mass Shooting Suspect Arrested In AL (patch.com) β A suspect in a deadly 2023 Atlanta mass shooting was arrested this week at a house in Montgomery by an FBI SWAT team.
