Former Spartan Standout Joins NFL Coaching Staff

Former Mountain Brook football star and University of Alabama starter William Vlachos has joined the Buffalo Bills coaching staff.

MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL - Although many Mountain Brook alumni have achieved athletic success at the college level, no former Spartan has ever made an NFL roster. However, one former Mountain Brook football star is making his way to the NFL as a coach. Former MBHS and University of Alabama offensive lineman William Vlachos has joined the Buffalo Bills coaching staff, following former Alabama offensive coordinator Brian Daboll to the Bills.

Vlachos, a three year starter at center for Alabama, was a member of two of Alabama's national championship teams, and became a graduate assistant with the Crimson Tide in 2013. Daboll took the Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator job at the close of the 2017 season, and announced Vlachos was coming with him to Buffalo.

Vlachos was an All-SEC center, and was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Tennessee Titans when his college career was over, but was released before the season started.
