Handgun Familiarization Course Offered By Mountain Brook PD

Learn the ins and outs of firearm ownership in a course offered by the Mountain Brook Police Department.

MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL — To say that gun ownership is common among Alabama adults would be an understatement of significant proportions. In act there are more guns owned in Alabama tan in the entire country of Spain. However, not everyone knows the ins and outs of handguns.

The Mountain Brook Police Department is hosting a handgun familiarization course for that purpose. This course is designed for someone with little or no experience that would like to become more familiar with handgun safety, handling and operation.

The course will be held Saturday, November 9 at 8 a.m. at the Mountain Brook Police and Fire Training Center. It will consist of classroom lecture along with live fire exercises. Course length is approximately six hours.
